Bob Ferguson call a special session explicitly to lower gas prices by pausing gas taxes from the Climate Commitment Act (SB 5126 in 2021, enacted 2023) and low carbon fuel standards. The average gas price in Washington State is currently $5.02 a gallon, a full $1.23 over the national average of $3.79, according to AAA. Gas taxes went up on July 1st too.![]()
