Senate Republicans are worried that cap and tax and high cost fuel standard bills passed by majority Democrats in the Senate will raise gas prices and hurt citizens.

The views expressed by individual members are not necessarily those of the entire caucus.

Republicans worry the carbon cap and tax bill that passed out of the state Senate will hurt citizens and small businesses.

Senate Democrats got the legislation across the finish line.

The bill passed out of the Senate with no Republican support and now heads to the House.

Republicans fear a high cost fuel standard will increase the cost of gas.

A bill that has now passed in the state House and Senate directs the Department of Ecology to establish a clean fuels program.

Republicans say it’s expensive and does little to improve air quality.

The measure now heads back to the House.
