Democrat legislation that could have led to the largest property tax increase in state history is dead. The Democrat sponsor of the bill that would have allowed annual property tax growth to triple announced that it will not be brought up for a vote this year. That decision followed a Senate Republican news conference on the measure where Senator Chris Gildon pointed out Democrats’ hypocrisy and Senator Drew MacEwen said Senate Democrats just don’t listen.
