People with severe mental illness who are in and out of mental hospitals and jails because they refuse treatment could soon get some help.
State Senator Steve O’Ban is sponsoring a bill that would allow courts to assign a special guardian to make care decisions for those who are incapable of recognizing their need for help.
He held a press conference, which was followed by a hearing. Both included gut-wrenching statements and testimony that you can hear now.
