Dubious Distinction: Washington State ranks dead last (50 out of 50 states) for farm profitability according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).State level policies including high fuel costs/taxes, high taxes overall, and a mountain of red tape keeps constraining our farmers and the agricultural community. We are losing two farms everyday in our state on average too (Source: Seattle Times).We must lower, not increase, the cost of doing businesses for farmers.
